{"id":1510,"date":"2020-05-08T11:06:35","date_gmt":"2020-05-08T11:06:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ibulletin.ilisa.ir\/?p=1510"},"modified":"2020-05-08T11:06:37","modified_gmt":"2020-05-08T11:06:37","slug":"public-libraries-social-functions-a-national-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ibulletin.ilisa.ir\/?p=1510","title":{"rendered":"Public Libraries Social Functions: A National Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"Body-type---articles ParaOverride-2\" style=\"direction: ltr;\"><span class=\"CharOverride-2\">The Association for Improving Iranian Public Libraries held its first national seminar, titled \u201cSocial Functions of Public Libraries\u201d in Ahwaz (Khouzestan Provience) on April 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body-type---articles ParaOverride-2\" style=\"direction: ltr;\"><span class=\"CharOverride-2\">According to the announced call-for, the subject of articles sent to the secretariat of this seminar are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body-type---articles ParaOverride-2\" style=\"direction: ltr;\"><span class=\"CharOverride-2\">-Services and programs proper with the social roles of the public libraries<br \/><\/span><span class=\"CharOverride-2\">-Public libraries and socialization<br \/><\/span><span class=\"CharOverride-2\">-Public libraries as the social technology<br \/><\/span><span class=\"CharOverride-2\">-Libraries in the public perspective<br \/><\/span><span class=\"CharOverride-2\">-Public libraries and social harms<br \/><\/span><span class=\"CharOverride-2\">-Public libraries and natural disasters<br \/><\/span><span class=\"CharOverride-2\">-Economic<br \/><\/span><span class=\"CharOverride-2\">-aspects of Public libraries:<\/span><span class=\"CharOverride-2\">production, employment, entrepreneurship and business<br \/><\/span><span class=\"CharOverride-2\">-Social concepts related to the Public libraries: social participation, social justice, improving people life quality<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body-type---articles ParaOverride-2\" style=\"direction: ltr;\"><span class=\"CharOverride-2\">Since September 2019, when the call for sending articles for this seminar announced, several preliminary seminars and journal clubs were held in Tehran, Hamedan, Qazvin and Fars.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Body-type---articles ParaOverride-2\" style=\"direction: ltr;\"><span class=\"CharOverride-2\">\u201cMost of intellectuals believe that public libraries are a part of the society\u2019s texture and they need to make more important their roles in the society. <\/span><span class=\"CharOverride-2\">They also need to take their strides given the importance of the social issues in the society and believe in the fact that public libraries should try their best to solve the social problems of the society.\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"CharOverride-2\">Hence, it was decided to hold a seminar dealing with the social applications of the public libraries in order to pave the way for exchanging thoughts and producing texts for all intellectuals and policy-makers and managers working in this field;\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"CharOverride-2\">therefore, the first national seminar of the scientific association of Improving Public libraries of Iran with the cooperation of National Public Libraries Institute and Public Libraries Department General of Khuzestan Province will deal with this issue,\u201d Koohi Rostami, secretary of this seminar, said.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Association for Improving Iranian Public Libraries held its first national seminar, titled \u201cSocial Functions of Public Libraries\u201d in Ahwaz (Khouzestan Provience) on April 2020.
