The event included two speeches on Fitzgerald&#8217;s translation of the Rub\u00e1iy\u00e1t of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Omar_Khayyam\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Omar Khayy\u00e1m<\/a>, respectively by Professor Manouchehr Anvar on the quality of the translation, and Dr. Mostafa Hosseini on the &#8220;Acceptance of Khayy\u00e1m\u2019s Rub\u00e1iy\u00e1t in England during the Victorian Age.&#8221; A documentary on Fitzgerald&#8217;s life entitled &#8220;The Missing Truth&#8221;, directed by Mohammad Ali Farsi, was also screened during the event. Fitzgerald\u2019s translation of Khayy\u00e1m\u2019s Rub\u00e1iy\u00e1t in 1859 was indeed a major literary contribution in familiarizing the West with the work of Omar Khayy\u00e1m (1048\u20131131 A. D.), dubbed &#8220;the Astronomer-Poet of Persia&#8221;.
