He was among the 12 international writers of children and adolescents\u2019 stories invited to the 2018 literary festival of world renown. In addition to Khanian\u2019s lecture, parts of his famous novel \u201cJonah\u2019s Words of Love in the Whale\u2019s Belly\u201d were recited in German, followed by discussion by the audience about the fictitious characters of \u201cJonah\u201d and \u201cSara\u201d in the novel.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-668 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ibulletin.ilisa.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/The-Iranian-Guest-of-the-Munich-International-Library.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"464\" height=\"314\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ibulletin.ilisa.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/The-Iranian-Guest-of-the-Munich-International-Library.jpg 464w, https:\/\/ibulletin.ilisa.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/The-Iranian-Guest-of-the-Munich-International-Library-300x203.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 464px) 100vw, 464px\" \/><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a subsequent interview with Roya Maktabi, Khanian talked about his reasons and motivations for writing stories for children and adolescents, the role of climate and geography in his narrative, and also the role of human integrity in the depiction of characters in his novels.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Khanian, born in the southern city of Abadan in 1961, started writing stories in the 1980s. After a period of writing for adults, he crossed over to the field of children and adolescents\u2019 literature. \u201cAlways the Same Time, the Same Game\u201d, \u201cStrange Distances\u201d, \u201cThe Beautiful Heart of Baboor\u201d, \u201cClipped Wings\u201d, \u201cDeep Dive\u201d, \u201cSeventh Floor, West\u201d and \u201cA Mouth Filled with Crows\u201d are among his other major works.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In July 2018, Jamshid Khanian, an Iranian novelist and playwright, addressed the biennial festival of \u201cWhite Crows\u201d, organized by the International Library of Children and Adolescents in Munich, Germany.
