On the occasion of Yalda Night (in Persian: Shab-e Yalda or Shab-e Cheleh), NLAI along with Iliad Institute hosted the working Children. Yalda Night is one of the most ancient Iranian celebrations.
Yalda is a winter solstice celebration, that is, in the night of the Northern Hemisphere’s winter solstice.
The purpose of holding this program in the Iranian Children National Library was explaining the philosophy of Yalda Night to the working children and making them acquainted with the ancient Iranian culture and traditions.
Besides holding a Yalda table, an exhibition of books about Yalda Night was held in the Iranian Children National Library. At the end of the program, the participants were given some presents and books proper with their age group.
