The Sadeq Hedayat Literary Prize is awarded annually by the Sadeq Hedayat Foundation to the best unpublished short stories in the Persian language. Any writer, whether Iranian or Persian-speakers of other countries, can submit only one unpublished short story running between 1,000 and 4,000 words. This year the 17th annual prize will be awarded. The deadline for the submission of unpublished works is set for 22 October 2018. The selected best stories and the Prize laureate will be announced at the Award ceremony scheduled for late January 2019. The Prize Jury will award a head statuette of Hedayat or a Letter of Commendation to the selected short stories. The Hedayat Foundation, in cooperation with literary institutes outside Iran, will publish a collection of the best short stories this year.
