In the new course of cooperation between NLAI and Azerbaijan National Library in April 2019, a total of 36 books, Azerbaijan National Library granted 4 non-book sources and 4 journals to NLAI. Azerbaijan National Library or the public library of Mirza Fath’ali Akhondzadeh has been founded in Baku in 1922 and since its establishment has worked as the public and governmental library of Azerbaijan.
Generally, this library is known with the name of Mirza Fath’ali Akhondzadeh, the famous Azerbaijani playwright and philosopher, who used to live in Qajar Era in Iran. Already during the 15 international Tabriz Book Fair, a MOU was signed between the two libraries in order to exchange books, share experiences and introduce culture of two countries. Regarding the cultural and historical commonalities between Iran and Azerbaijan, extension of cooperation between the two countries would result in strengthening of relation and exchanging know-how and information about libraries an knowledge.
