A memorandum of understanding was concluded between Uzbekistan National Library and NALI for developing and extending library-related activities based on joint endeavors on cultural, scientific and technical fields. The MOU was signed by Broujerdi, Director of the National Library and Archives of Iran, and Umida Teshabayeva, director of National library of Uzbekistan.

Some contents of this MOU are as follows: studying, researching and cataloging manuscripts, rare old books and sharing information about how to keep books, electronic transaction of books and documents in the international level, regular information dissemination about books and magazines, interchangeable documents based on national rules of both countries and also sharing experiences and professional and scientific achievements related activities of both parties.

Later in this MOU, preparing and compiling and updating bibliographic database on identification of Iran and Uzbekistan and also interchanging information and other findings, function of technologies and new scientific achievements on the field of libraries and information dissemination have been emphasized.

In this meeting, Teshabayeva granted some gifts, with the purpose of being familiar with culture, history and identity of Uzbekistan, to Broujerdi. And then the symbol of NLAI along with Persian Nobles was granted to director of National Library of Uzbekistan.
