Qazvini Quran, every page has extraordinary gilding, is one of the artistic masterpieces in the world of Quran gilding.
The Quran of Zayn al-Abidin Qazvini is an exquisite and precious Qur’an of the Qajar period in which 600 different gildings have been used. About four kilos of pure gold and precious stones have been used in gilding this exquisite Quran.
This exquisite Quran was written in the city of Shiraz in 1219 AH, and several art masters and painters were working on it for several years. This magnificent work has 547 pages with 600 pieces of gilding and painting.
There is also separate gilding and school of gilding that has existed in Iran used in this Quran, which has turned it into a unique work. The unique features of this Quran persuaded some Saudi and English collectors to buy it in any way possible and at an incredible price. Fortunately, the owner’s commitment, national, and religious prejudice prevented this, and finally, in 2008, this immortal work was entrusted to the NLAI.
