Bologna Children’s Book Fair, an annual event in the field of children’s books and multimedia industry, is a prestigious cultural event held in the spring in Italy since 1962. The Book Fair attracts operators, experts and activists from different parts of the world who expose themselves to the latest developments and achievements in both fields and engage in exchange of ideas and expand their professional cooperation. Iran’s stall at the Fair, similar to previous years, was organized by the Institute for Cultural Exhibitions of Iran. It exhibited more than 350 titles I the field of children’s and young adults’ books produced by 280 authors and 62 publishing houses. Display and introduction of Iranian books, cultural and artistic performances, painting workshops, and specialized panel discussions on book publishing in Iran were among the other activities of Iran’s pavilion at the Fair. A number of independent publishing houses also participated in the Book Fair and directly presented their publications. Mr. Farhad Hassanzadeh, Iranian author of short stories, and a short-listed candidate for the internationally-recognized and highly prestigious Hans Christian Andersen literary award for Books for Young People for 2018, also attended the Book Fair.
