The Fourth Congress of Information Science Experts will be held from 17-18 November 2018 at the National Library and Archives of Iran. Experts, librarians, academics, and graduate students interested in the field of information science from across the country will present research papers at the two-day event. The Congress, dedicated to the main theme of “University Education: Human Empowerment and Professional Dynamism”, intends to harmonize the educational views of specialists and practitioners in the field of information science. The sub-themes to be addressed at the Congress are as follows:
- Quality of university education in the fields of information science and knowledge studies;
- Quality of continuous professional education in a variety of libraries, archives and information centers;
- Quality assessment of university education in the field: criteria, standards and models;
- Re-training of faculty members and the quality of training leaves;
- Status of empowerment in the fields of information science and knowledge studies in formal university education;
- The role of professional and scientific associations in the fields of information science and knowledge studies in educational development and professional empowerment;
- The educational requirements to enable students and graduates of the field to find rewarding job opportunities;
- Compatibility between the syllabi of the discipline and its sub-disciplines with entrepreneurial and job market demands;
- Harmony between the expertise of faculty members and the curricula;
- The educational needs of graduate students in the fields of information science and knowledge studies;
- Educational challenges at the undergraduate level in the fields of information science and knowledge studies;
- Quality and efficiency of workshops held in the field; and
- Quality of books and educational materials produced in response to the professional demands in the field.
