Pursuant to intensive talks between the National Library and Archives of Iran (NLAI) and the ISSN International Center, Iran will be hosting ISSN 2020 event. The announcement was recently made by Saleh Zamani, NLAI Advisor in International Affairs, upon his return from the IFLA 2018 Congress in Malaysia, where he finalized the matter in the meeting with Gail Beckett.
The ISSN general meeting, with a membership of over 80 countries, is held in the summer every year. This is the first time Iran is slated to host this global meeting. Iran’s cooperation with ISSN International during the almost past two decades has served to promote compliance of Iranian journals with the required standards.
