The The International Book Fair of Turin, Italy, has designated Iran as the special guest for its 34th Fair in 2020. Turin, selected by UNESCO as the “World Book Capital” in 2020, has held its international book fair since 1998.
The Turin International Book Fair, the most important book fair in Italy, is widely considered to come second to Frankfurt Book Fair in Europe. The authorities of the Book Fair have advised their Iranian counterparts to utilize the opportunity of the 33rd Fair in 2019 to inform and raise awareness, through distribution of materials and cultural activities, about the ‘Special Guest’ status at the 2020 Fair.
