The Knowledge Organization Meeting has been a key gathering since the inaugural Congress of Information Science Specialists, consistently focusing on presenting specialized and updated topics within the field.

The theme for the 8th Congress of Information Science Specialists is artificial intelligence (AI), and the application of AI in knowledge organization will be a central topic of discussion during the meeting. The meeting will be titled “Improving Knowledge Organization through Knowledge Graphs and Large Language Models” and specifically, the use of knowledge graphs and large language models (LLMs) to enhance knowledge organization will be explored.

AI allows for the collection of both structured and unstructured data from various sources, enabling the extraction of critical information. By analyzing available data, AI can identify patterns and trends that may not be evident to humans. These advanced analyses can lead to the generation of new knowledge and offer fresh perspectives.

Furthermore, AI facilitates faster and more accurate information retrieval. It can also be leveraged for the automatic organization of content. During this meeting, efforts will be made to enhance and refine the structured data available in libraries and information centers using intelligent analyses, logical reasoners, and LLMs, making the data more comprehensive and interactive.

Additionally, the introduction of knowledge graphs and their development will be discussed in relation to the use of reasoners and the functionalities of large language models. The methods of utilizing these tools to improve knowledge organization will also be addressed, along with relevant examples to help familiarize the audience and deepen their understanding of the subject.

Dr. Maliheh Dorkhosh, the secretary of the meeting, serves as the deputy of Policy-making of scientific resources at the Central Library and Document Center of Tehran University. The meeting will also feature Alireza Shahbazi, the founder of Burhan Institute, and Dr. Majid Asgari, the founder and Technical Director of Najm Institute. Both institutions are engaged in the field of artificial intelligence.
